Biography:
Hola! My name is Aggar Frias. I was born and raised in Puebla, Mexico until I came to study Agriculture here at the U of A. My dream is to work for the UN on projects focusing on helping marginalized farmers around the world develop sustainable cropping systems. I love learning new languages, and about different cultural traditions and beliefs. I also enjoy dancing, yoga, eating desserts..mmm cupcakes! and milk!

Aggar is an Event Coordinator, whose role is to:

Oversee all special events (not meetings) with the help of the rest of the executive,
Book tables and venues, prepare materials for events,
Organize letter-writing nights, social events (in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator), and the yearly benefit concert,
Find community events in which to take part, and
Create committees as needed for special events and direct the promotion, organization and execution of special events.

Research Amnesty International cases for tabling around campus,

Hi my name is Quentin and i’m in my 4th year in the Political Science Honours program. I think eating good food is really underrated, I would definitely consider this my hobby. That, and sleeping is pretty cool.

A: Taylor Swift hands down, like I can’t describe in words how much I love her!
Where do you work?
I’ve had a diversity of jobs like McDonald’s to a paper boy. But right now, I work at Costco (anyone interested in a membership?) and I’ve been a Combat Engineer for the Canadian Forces Reserve for almost 5 years.

Reimburse members as needed,
Check mail and pays bills as needed,

Heyo! I’m Antonia (though feel free to call me Toni) and I am currently in my second year of Sociology. I like listening to metal and training hard at Kung Fu.

What kind of books do you like to read?
A: Any and all kinds! It depends on my mood. Right now I have completely and utterly lost myself in “A Game of Thrones”. It’s absolutely amazing.
What’s the farthest-away place you’ve been?

Research Amnesty International cases for general meetings,
Present an action every second general meeting with additional and useful information about the case,
Prepare materials for the “action” part of the case, usually either letter-writing or petitioning, and
Answer applicable questions about the action.

Claire Edwards is in her first year of political science and works part time as a legislative page. She loves her dog Wilson and enjoys knitting in her free time. Hello! I’m Catherine Sauve, President for the year, and a 3rd year Neuroscience student. Seeing the Amnesty group work and grow over the past three years is exactly why I’ve stuck around. Hello! My name is Samina. I’m the design/marketing coordinator for this year! I am a 3rd year BSc student.
I like to consider myself a deep thinker and fairly creative! I hope to utilize my strong passion for human rights, to help our group raise more awareness about all the human rights violations happening around the world, every minute and every day. I aspire to, one day, do humanitarian work abroad.

Biography:
Hola! My name is Joanne and I’m this year’s External Relations Director. Basically that means I get to deal with Amnesty International and other similar groups outside of our University. This includes high schools and the local city chapter. I joined Amnesty International because I wanted to further educate myself on human rights issues and meet other like minded people. I’m currently in my third year of Nursing and looking forward to travelling with my degree.

Interesting fact: For the month of February last year, I wrote a new fun fact on my Facebook every day and declared the month “Fun Fact February”.. Did you know that hippo’s milk is pink?

Holla! My name is Solomia, which is much less complicated to pronounce than it may look (think Pavarotti opera and you’ve got it).
